I've been blogging offline for a few months to help myself become more comfortable with my content and decide my format. I will be posting more content soon!
I asked friends and family to give me three virtues that make a family. Here is what I received:
110 Pound Sailfish - When you think you want to quit just tell yourself... Quitting is not an option. It might seem hard but most things in life are, if you're truly living! Never Give up!
It's funny how having kids change even the simple things. Yes I do own some "good wine", it's over in the wine cabinet and now only opened for special occasions. I've had periods in my life where I would spend $60-80 on a bottle of wine, which I know pales in comparison to a true wine enthusiast
And, since I'm not the elite connoisseur and never will be, I've discovered many of the bottles at Target will suit me just fine. I've moved from dry to sweet wines and the Skinny Girl Moscato is one of my favorites. Perhaps it's having a little girl that automatically makes me enjoy all things sweet (often to the detriment of my weight loss goals)
While visiting my mom, I laughed upon seeing this in the fridge... one mans wine is another child's yogurt!
So excited to participate in the Greenwood, AR Freedom Fest. I had such an exciting time sharing my books with my hometown. The best part was listening to others stories on how they would like to publish a book. My advice... make it happen! Self-publishing is a great way to start and gives such gratification when you see your hard work in print!
On our way to church we stopped at Starbucks. The lady in front of us received her beverage then asked for something different, so I knew we were in for a wait. Windows rolled down and settled in behind the car in front of us, I overhear the "customer" telling the Starbucks employee that maybe her church could help him?
His pleasant smile turns sad, his head tilted down and I thought I heard him say, well I've been gay my whole life...
I try to see this woman through the back windshield, thinking perhaps I see a middle age, Caucasian woman, long dark hair... then something catches my eye. A Fellowship of the Parks* church sticker. Ironically this is the church where we are headed.
It's my turn, I pull up look at the now saddened young man and said, I have no idea what you were speaking about with that lady and I apologize for eavesdropping but my partner, my daughter and I are heading to church right now and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, my God loves me for exactly who I am.
His hand reached out for mine and the sunlight reflected off a small little tear. He said Thank You, I can't believe this has just happened. I was making small talk with her while she waited and she proceeded to tell me that her church offers conversion classes that would help me.
My jaw dropped. We were late for church but I firmly believe God had me where I was supposed to be.
As I held his hand, I smiled and said, "I believe in God and I believe I am who I am as a member of God's family. I think the only thing that matters in this world is Love. Everything else exists around ones ability to give, receive, and feel love... God is the essence of love. God loves you for exactly who you are!"
He hands me my drink, while still holding my other hand and says to me... I love you. Thank you, you have no idea how much it means that you followed after that lady.
I smiled, eyes now brighter than before and as his smile returned I thought... Yeah lady in the other car, I've got your conversion classes right here!
*I did not see this lady at the church her window sticker claimed she supported.
Today is an incredible day! I'm pretty sure I have found the self-publishing company I want to publish my books. They allow me to set the price so I'm not forced into a minimum of $22.99 or pay an additional one hundred dollars to set the price at $17.99, type of situation.
It's taken over a year to realize self-publishing is the way to go and to find one I am comfortable with. I want my books to be affordable, easy to find, and quick delivery with print on demand options! So excited, I feel Create Space is my solution!
